How to use the MyMonth Image Gallery

The MyMonth team is pleased to offer its members the use of a new photo gallery to post photographs of activities related to saving our environment. All members of the MyMonth forum are encouraged to register to the gallery - even if they don’t wish to upload their own photographs – as this will allow them to view other members’ photographs and leave comments on images, if desired.

We politely request that all images uploaded are intended for use within the MyMonth gallery and forum. Please do not use the MyMonth photo gallery as a storage area for photographs intended for other forums or websites.

Registering to the Gallery

When registering to the gallery, please use your MyMonth forum username (this helps the MyMonth administration team). Please also the same username when you create your own album, i.e. if you sign up to the MyMonth gallery as Joe Bloggs, please name your album Joe Bloggs. (Further instructions about creating your album are provided below.)

Please fill out your profile as fully as possible. Once you have completed your registration, the MyMonth administration team will be informed and will activate your account. You will receive an email once your account has been activated.

Creating your Album

Once you are logged into the Photo Gallery, a number of small grey buttons will appear. Once of these will read ‘Create Album’. When you click on this button, you will be taken to a new window, with two boxes. Click on the white area of the largest window (the one at the top), then click again on the ‘New Album’ button. The words ‘New Album’ will then appear in the large box and in the smaller box underneath. In the small box underneath, overwrite the words ‘New Album’ with your username (the same one that you used to register to the Gallery). Press the large grey button to confirm these changes and complete the creation of your album. Once you have completed this process, you can use the ‘Upload File’ button to upload images from your PC to the MyMonth gallery.

Gallery Tip: Image Sizes

Images uploaded must be no larger than 700 pixels (high or wide) and 72 dots per inch (dpi). If an image is too large, it will take a long time to download and will be difficult to view. Please also ensure that you delete any images that are no longer relevant. Sensible album management saves our storage space!

Once posted, gallery images can be accessed in three different views, as follows:

Size 1: Small size with title only.
Size 2: Medium size with title and text, plus an option to leave comments.
Size 3: Large size (to access this, click on the medium size image and – provided the image is big enough – it will open full size in a new window).
